hendrik was born on March 17th, 1923 in Emmen. Hendrik's father was jans Sikkenga and his mother was aaltje geugies. His paternal grandparents were hendrik Sikkenga and jantje jonker; his maternal grandparents were jan geugies and geertien Katerberg. He had a brother and three sisters, named jan, geertje, jantje and frederika. He was the oldest of the five children. He died from cancer, longkanker, at the age of 52 on May 13th, 1975 in Emmen. He was buried in emmen de wolfsbergen.
